Agriculture

In the middle of the bush, 50 km from Zalom (4.5 hours' drive on difficult roads), the project in Edzendouan has approximately 80 hectares of fertile land. An agricultural activity is currently being developed here.

Today, the yield of macabo, bananas, cassava, palm nuts, potatoes, fruit and vegetables is completely consumed by the orphanage and the local agricultural workers (former orphans).

Living conditions are very rudimentary. With a small solar panel installation, AMI has provided some comfort with electricity, light and a refrigerator.

Our partner, the Swiss NGOO "Action-Puits pour tous les Peupleshas planned to build some housing in Edzendouan for agricultural workers and their families.

To scale up agricultural production in Edzendouan, we are looking at how to collaborate with an agricultural school, which has agricultural machinery, but on the other hand has little agricultural land to cultivate.
