Fish culture

Thanks to a generous donation, AMI was able to realize the construction of fish ponds in Zalom in 2019. AMI provided technical support to, among other things, prevent dike ruptures and regulate the water level. Then  catfish, tilapia and kanga were introduced in the ponds.

 

150 to 200 kg of fish are caught every month. Most of it is eaten by the children of the orphanage. In addition, fresh fish is also served in the Guesthouse's restaurant. Fish is also sold to third parties, which provides extra income to vary the diet of the children.
